The Dumbo Ear Betta is a selectively bred variety of Betta splendens, originating from wild bettas native to Southeast Asia.

The “Dumbo” or “Elephant Ear” trait refers to the enlarged pectoral fins, which resemble wings as the fish swims. This feature is the result of ornamental breeding and is not found in wild populations.
