APT FIX – Strong Algae Treatment for Heavily Planted Aquariums

Effective algae control without disrupting your aquascape balance.

🌿 The Smarter Way to Treat Algae
APT FIX is the go-to solution for aquarists dealing with stubborn algae outbreaks — especially Black Beard Algae (BBA), fuzz, string, and other filamentous forms. Its powerful, biodegradable formula works fast without harming plants or disrupting beneficial bacteria. Ideal for high-tech setups with CO₂ and fertilizers, it provides consistent results without copper or persistent residues.

Targets tough algae species like BBA, fuzz, and string
Gently breaks down without harming rooted plants
Fully biodegradable within 24 hours
Spot-dose precision with included pipette

How to Use APT FIX

🟦 Spot-Dose Method

  • Pause filter flow temporarily

  • Use up to 1ml per 10 liters of tank water

  • Apply directly onto affected algae

  • Repeat daily as needed for up to 7 days

  • Resume filtration after 10–15 minutes

🌊 Broad Treatment (if algae is widespread)

  • Dose the full tank up to 1ml per 10L

  • Monitor livestock closely

  • Perform a 50% water change after 24 hours

⚠️ Not recommended for tanks with shrimp, mosses, Riccardia, or Vallisneria. Use APT FIXLITE instead for sensitive aquascapes.

Best Practices for Long-Term Algae Control
🟢 Remove dead leaves and weak growth
🟢 Maintain steady CO₂ levels and consistent flow
🟢 Regularly clean filters and replant trimmed stems

🟢 Increase planting density (70%+ substrate coverage)

Q&A: APT FIX – Common Questions

Can I use this with CO₂ injection and fertilizers?
Yes. APT FIX is safe for high-tech tanks and does not interfere with nutrient dosing or gas injection.

What types of algae does it target best?
APT FIX is highly effective against Black Beard Algae (BBA), string algae, fuzz algae, and most forms of filamentous algae. It’s not suitable for green spot or green dust algae.

Will it harm my fish or beneficial bacteria?
No — when used as directed, it’s safe for fish and tank microbiomes. It biodegrades within 24 hours and does not affect the nitrogen cycle.

Does it work on algae on hardscape?
Yes — you can drip it directly onto affected hardscape with the filter off. Let it sit briefly before restarting the filter.

Can I use this in a shrimp tank?
We don’t recommend it. For shrimp, mosses, and soft plants like Vallisneria, use APT FIXLITE instead.

Hair Algae on Leaf Surface
APT FIX begins working within 48 hours. Notice the fading and reduction of algae between Day 0, Day 2, and full die-off by Day 7.

Black Beard Algae (BBA) on Plant Leaves
APT FIX targets BBA effectively without damaging delicate plant tissue. You can see the algae fade and collapse between Day 0 and Day 7, with visible weakening by Day 2.

magic 70

The best natural defence against algae is a healthy dominant plant mass. 70% of a tank’s substrate should be planted. Tanks with large exposed, un-planted areas are far more susceptible to algae, in the same way that fertile open fields invite weeds to grow.
    no copper
The problem is that copper, like other heavy metals, accumulate over time and do long term damage to the tank’s ecosystem. Both APT Fix and APT FIXLITE use active compounds that biodegrade naturally over 12- 24hours, with no nasty residues.
