We welcome fish room visits and tours.
Because we operate an active e-commerce store, we ask that you contact us before coming by so we can make sure someone is available to host your visit.
Fish room visits and tours are available seven days a week, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Local Pickup Process
If you select Local Pickup at checkout, you will receive a standard order confirmation immediately after purchase.
Once your order is ready, we’ll send a second notification letting you know it’s available for pickup.
After you receive the pickup notification, when you arrive, please text us at 530-526-1532 to let us know you’re here and whether you’d like to come inside or have your order brought out curbside.
Note on live fish:
Live fish are packaged upon arrival. For curbside pickup, there may be a brief additional wait while fish are safely packaged.
Local Courier Delivery
Orders processed before 5:00 PM are delivered the same day.
You will receive a notification when your delivery is on the way. If there is any delay with order readiness, we’ll let you know promptly.
Aquariums
Aquariums are not eligible for courier delivery.
They must be picked up in person, or delivery can be arranged if needed.
Live Fish
Live fish are shipped bagged in an insulated box and are guaranteed to arrive safe under our Arrive Safe policy.

Returns
Local dry goods purchases may be returned for any reason within 90 days.
Items returned unused and in original manufacturer packaging are eligible for a full refund.
Items that are missing packaging or lightly used may still be accepted within the same 90-day period, subject to a restocking fee.
Return eligibility depends on the item and its condition. For warranty related matters, please see the Warranty section for more information.
Arrive Safe Guarantee — 24 Hours
We put respect for nature first in everything we do. Our Arrive Safe Guarantee covers live fish for the first 24 hours after purchase.
If a fish passes away within the first 24 hours, we will provide a replacement of the same item or a refund if a replacement is unavailable. A return of the fish and a water sample is required. If the water sample shows conditions unsuitable for aquatic life, a refund cannot be issued.
All fish delivered via courier are packaged with care, double-bagged, and placed in insulated boxes. Extreme weather conditions or courier delays may result in delivery cancellation at our discretion and in the best interest of the fish.
If you notice anything wrong when your fish arrives, please notify us immediately so we can assist you under our Arrive Safe Guarantee.
Returns for Incompatible Fish
If a fish turns out to be incompatible with your existing livestock, we may be able to accept a return within the first 24 hours.
Returns are only possible if we have available space in our holding systems and can do so without risking the health of current or quarantined inventory. Because fish from customer aquariums cannot always be reintroduced once space is limited, returns for incompatibility are not guaranteed.
If you are unsure about compatibility before purchasing, we’re always happy to help guide you toward safe stocking choices.
Aquatic Plants
We are always happy to help you choose plants suited to your water conditions or assist with parameter adjustments to meet your goals.
Aquatic plants are guaranteed to arrive or be picked up in healthy condition, ready to grow. Once plants enter your system, their long-term health depends on lighting, nutrients, CO₂, and general tank care.
There are no returns on live plants.
Freight Shipping
Aquariums, furniture, and oversized items may require shipment by freight due to their size and handling requirements.
For standard (non-custom) aquariums and stands, a freight quote will be provided at the time of purchase. Once the rate is approved, you will receive a receipt showing the exact freight cost.
When your order ships, you will receive a copy of the carrier’s bill of lading along with a tracking number so you can follow the delivery.

Freight Rates & Adjustments
Freight carriers adjust pricing based on season, fuel costs, and carrier workload. Because of this, the final freight rate at the time of shipment may increase or decrease.
Customers are responsible for the actual carrier rate. We do not mark up freight or include freight costs in product pricing. If the carrier cost decreases, the difference will be refunded.
If a seasonal rate increase or other foreseeable carrier adjustment is expected, we will inform you in advance. If there is a substantial unexpected change in the freight rate at the time of shipment, we will contact you before the shipment is released to review the updated cost.
Freight Delivery & Damage Claims
All freight shipments are insured.
You must be available to receive and inspect the shipment at delivery. If visible damage is present, the shipment must be refused, and the driver must note the damage on the bill of lading to activate insurance coverage.
If freight arrives damaged:
• Refuse the shipment
• Ensure the driver notes the damage on the bill of lading
Custom Aquariums & Custom Wood Stands
Custom aquariums and custom wood stands are built specifically for each customer. Once production is agreed upon, materials are purchased as needed, then cut, milled, and assembled exclusively for that order.
Lead Times
Build time varies based on material availability, design requirements, and current workload. An estimated completion window is provided at the time of order and may adjust if materials availability or production timelines change.
Changes or Cancellations
Design changes may only be requested before production begins.
Once production has started, the order enters fabrication. Depending on the build status, changes may no longer be possible, and alteration requests may be subject to additional fees. All post-production change requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Local Pickup
Local pickup is available once your custom aquarium or custom stand is completed. You will receive an email to schedule your pickup appointment.
If you choose local pickup or arrange your own third-party transport, you are responsible for transportation, loading, unloading, securing the item, and any damage that occurs during transit. Transport insurance is not provided by Blue Zone Aquarium when using pickup or outside carriers.
Freight Rates for Custom Orders
Freight rates can change seasonally and may shift between the start of a custom build and the time your order is ready to ship.
A freight estimate is provided at the time of purchase. If rate changes are expected, such as seasonal increases typically calculated as a percentage of carrier pricing, we will notify you in advance.
While we make every effort to provide accurate estimates, we are not responsible for changes in freight rates. The customer is responsible for all freight charges in all circumstances, including any rate adjustments that occur before shipment.
All freight shipments include insurance at no additional cost to you, ensuring your order is protected throughout transit.
We charge only the actual transportation cost and do not mark up freight. Our goal is to provide transparency while ensuring your order ships safely and reliably.
Product Warranty & 90-Day Return Coverage
All products sold by Blue Zone Aquarium are covered under our 90-day return and warranty policy.
If a product is defective or fails within the first 90 days, we will provide a replacement or refund once the item is received and inspected.
This coverage does not apply to damage caused by accidental breakage, improper installation, misuse, abuse, or modification.
Many products we carry also include a manufacturer’s warranty beyond our 90-day coverage. If you are unsure whether your item qualifies for extended manufacturer support, contact us and we will help determine the appropriate next steps.
Aquariums 25 gallons and under include a standard 90-day warranty covering manufacturing defects.
When an aquarium is purchased with a Blue Zone Aquarium stand, the aquarium warranty is automatically extended to three years.
Custom wood stands include a three-year warranty covering workmanship and structural integrity.
All custom aquariums and custom wood stands are final sale once production begins. Each piece is built to order and cannot be returned or refunded after fabrication has started.
BZA Arrive Safe Guarantee
Live fish are shipped using the fastest safe method based on weather, distance, and livestock value. We may upgrade shipping when needed to protect your order.
We ship Monday through Wednesday in insulated boxes and include heat packs as needed.
All fish and plants are covered under our Arrive Safe Guarantee.
We currently only ship live fish and plants within our flat-rate zone:
California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.
All dry goods ship within the same service area and are guaranteed to arrive undamaged and complete.
If a fish or plant does not make the journey, please contact us on the day of delivery with clear photos of the fish or plants as they arrived.
For dry goods, if a shipment arrives damaged, please take photos of the box, packaging, and the item itself. Do not throw anything away until we have contacted the carrier and completed the insurance process.
Replacement of live fish or plants is subject to availability. If the item is not in stock, a full refund will be issued.
Once everything is reviewed, we will take care of the next steps and arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.
This guarantee applies to arrival condition only. It does not cover losses that occur after acclimation or damage caused by improper handling after delivery.
