Description

This kit includes a sterile tissue culture marginal plant along with two clear hanging aquarium plant baskets designed for rimmed or rimless aquariums. These plants are not true aquatic plants. They are terrestrial or marginal species that grow best with their foliage above the waterline while their roots extend into the aquarium.

Tissue culture plants are produced in sterile laboratory conditions and arrive sealed in agar, free from pests, algae, and unwanted hitchhikers. Before use, gently rinse the agar gel from the roots and separate the plantlets. Once placed in the included hanging basket, the plant will transition to riparium-style growth, with the roots developing in the aquarium water while the leaves grow above the tank.

This method of growing marginal plants is popular in riparium and aquascape setups because the plants develop strong root systems that can help absorb excess nutrients while adding natural greenery around the aquarium.

The included hanging baskets attach easily to both rimmed and rimless aquariums using an adjustable screw mount. Their clear design keeps the setup discreet while allowing you to monitor root growth and plant development. Plant Options

Philodendron ‘Lime’
A bright chartreuse form of philodendron with smooth heart-shaped leaves and vigorous trailing growth. The vibrant lime-green foliage creates a striking contrast around the aquarium while long vines eventually trail outward as the plant matures.

Syngonium sp. (Arrowhead Plant)
A compact tropical aroid with distinctive arrow-shaped leaves. Young plants grow upright before gradually developing a trailing or climbing habit. In riparium setups the roots readily grow into aquarium water while the foliage forms a dense cluster of bright green leaves above the tank.
