Our Alive Safe Guarantee covers both live plants and aquariums/stands.

🌿 Plants

  • Coverage Window: Extended to three days during the cooler season. Coverage applies only if your package arrives within three days of shipment.

  • Shipping Method: USPS Priority Ground may qualify for our Alive Safe Guarantee in some regions but not all. If USPS Priority Ground transit time is longer than three days, you will need to choose Priority 2-Day service for coverage.
  • 📷 Photo Requirement: Guarantee claims must include a clear photo of the plant upon receipt or immediately upon opening on the day you receive the package.

  • Expiration: If we do not hear from you by the third day after shipment, the guarantee expires.

Plants may show minor stress in transit, especially during hot or cold weather. This is considered normal as long as they remain viable. Viability will be assessed by plant species and condition upon arrival.

🐠 Aquariums & Stands

All aquariums and stands are shipped fully insured. If an aquarium or stand arrives damaged:

  • Do not throw anything away.

  • Take clear photographs of the damage, including all four sides of the item and the packaging.

  • Contact us immediately with the photos.

We will assess the situation, handle the carrier claim, and provide a replacement or refund if necessary.

📦 USPS Hold for Pickup

You may select USPS Hold for Pickup at checkout. This option keeps your package at your local post office instead of being delivered to your mailbox or left outdoors until you arrive home. It can help prevent exposure to extreme heat or cold during the last leg of transit.

Most USPS facilities are temperature controlled, though we cannot guarantee that every location is. Hold for Pickup is available only with USPS (Priority Ground), and a government-issued photo ID is required at pickup.

Other carriers’ hold locations may still send packages out on a route or use outdoor lockers, so we do not offer this option outside USPS. If Hold for Pickup is not available in your area, we will contact you by email with additional shipping options before your package is sent.

Alaska and Hawaii: currently unavailable

Delivery times listed by zone are estimates only and may vary. These estimates are provided as a general guide and have no impact on the Alive Safe Guarantee.

🌡️ Seasonal Adjustments

We may hold shipments based on plant species, destination temperature, and shipping method choice. Heat packs are required for our Alive Safe Guarantee when temperatures drop below 50°F. Packaging includes seasonal temperature-control measures such as insulation. These measures help temporarily protect your plants under moderate conditions.

Small aquariums usually ship within 1–3 business days.

Large aquariums and stands currently require a custom shipping quote, as freight costs vary by destination, size, and even the day of the week or time of year. The difference in rates on large items can be substantial — it’s our aim to give you the best possible rate on the day of shipping.

↩️ Returns

Dry Goods & Aquariums: 30-day return if unused and in original packaging. Customer covers return shipping, insurance, and is responsible for damages during return transit.

Custom Orders: Non-refundable once production begins.
