Hikari® Metro+™
Metro+™ is a powdered metronidazole formula developed to treat susceptible disease conditions associated with hole-in-the-head and lateral line erosion in freshwater, marine, and pond fish. It can be used as a bath treatment or incorporated into medicated food. An included slime-coat replacer helps support external recovery.

Bath Treatment Instructions

Before the first dose and each daily retreatment, perform a water change of at least 30%. Treat replacement water with Ultimate® or a combination of Liquid Buffered ClorAm-X® and Stress-X™.

Add one capful (approximately 10 g) per 20 gallons (76 L) of actual water volume daily. This produces approximately 5 mg/L of metronidazole.

Repeat after 24 hours, performing a water change of at least 30% before each dose.

Continue treatment for 5–7 days or until mortalities cease. If no improvement is seen within six days, discontinue treatment and consider another treatment option.
Keep treatments consecutive and uninterrupted.
Medicated Food Instructions
For susceptible internal infections, Metro+™ can be incorporated into a prepared gelatin-based or dry-food mixture. Follow Hikari’s medicated-feed preparation instructions for the correct recipe. Adding the powder directly to food can create a bitter coating that discourages feeding.
Feed the prepared medicated food in place of the usual diet at least twice daily. Offer only what fish will completely consume within a few minutes, never more than five minutes. Remove uneaten food after feeding.
Continue feeding for at least three days after all signs of the disease disappear, then stop. Do not use medicated food as a routine diet when treatment is not needed. Discard prepared medicated food after 10 days.
Do Not Overdose
Dose according to actual water volume, allowing for water displaced by substrate, rocks, decorations, and other objects.

Caution
Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid breathing powder or dust. Use in an area with minimal air movement to prevent the powder from becoming airborne.
If eye contact occurs, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. If skin contact occurs, wash with mild soap and plenty of warm water.
