Hornwort

Hornwort is a fast-growing, rootless aquatic plant with dense, bright green foliage made up of fine, needle-like leaves. It can be left floating or kept as a weighted bunch, where its long stems create excellent background cover. Its dense growth also provides valuable shelter for fry, shrimp, and other small aquarium inhabitants.

An excellent choice for low-tech aquariums, Hornwort absorbs nutrients directly from the water column and can consume substantial amounts of nitrate as it grows. It tolerates a wide range of aquarium conditions, requires no injected CO₂, and can be trimmed easily whenever it becomes too dense.
