The Rainbow Cichlid is a colorful Central American cichlid that develops shades of yellow, gold, orange, and blue as it matures. Compared with many similarly sized cichlids, it is relatively mild-mannered and works well as a centerpiece fish in larger community setups.

  Rainbow Cichlids can become territorial when pairing or spawning, but outside breeding they are generally compatible with other appropriately sized peaceful to semi-aggressive fish.
