Orange Rili Shrimp are bright patterned freshwater shrimp ideal for planted nano tanks, known for their orange color and active grazing behavior.
🐟 More About This Species 🐟
Orange Rili Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are a selectively bred freshwater dwarf shrimp developed from hardy Neocaridina lines native to East Asia, where related wild forms inhabit streams, ponds, ditches, and slow-moving waters with plants, leaf litter, and biofilm-rich surfaces.
This strain is known for its orange-red patterned body with clearer “rili” sections through the middle, creating a bright contrast that stands out well against plants, dark substrate, and natural hardscape. Like other Neocaridina shrimp, they constantly graze surfaces for biofilm, algae film, and tiny food particles.
Orange Rili Shrimp are popular in planted nano tanks, shrimp colonies, and peaceful community aquariums. Their color pattern is captive-bred and maintained through selective breeding, making them a bright aquarium form rather than a wild-type shrimp.
