Cryptocoryne Wendtii ‘Tropica’ (Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Tropica’) is a cultivated variety developed by Tropica Nurseries from a species native to Sri Lanka’s tropical freshwater habitats. It forms a compact rosette of dark, heavily textured leaves that can vary in color depending on aquarium conditions.

Its broad, hammered leaves typically reach 4–8 inches and may spread outward close to the substrate when given open space. This compact growth makes it especially useful through the foreground and midground, where it creates contrast against fine-leaved and bright green plants.

This is a hardy, adaptable Crypt that grows well in low-tech aquariums, including tanks with moderately hard water. It provides lasting structure without frequent trimming and is an excellent choice for beginners, smaller aquariums, and natural planted layouts.
