Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.) is a freshwater suckermouth catfish from South America, where bristlenose-type plecos inhabit rivers, tributaries, flooded forest edges, and rocky wood-filled habitats with steady grazing surfaces.

This pleco is known for its armored body, flattened underside, rasping mouth, and facial bristles around the snout. Its compact size, strong grip, and grazing behavior help it move across wood, stone, and aquarium surfaces while feeding on biofilm, algae, and prepared foods.

Tank-raised Bristlenose Plecos are popular bottom-dwelling grazers with a manageable adult size, steady community-tank behavior, and strong aquarium adaptability.
