Butterfly Halfmoon Betta
Butterfly Halfmoon Betta is a colorful freshwater showpiece ideal for a calm planted aquarium, known for its wide halfmoon fins and distinct white butterfly edging. Each betta is individually listed and sold as the exact fish shown.
Butterfly Halfmoon Betta (Betta splendens) is a selectively bred form of the Siamese fighting fish, a species native to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. Wild bettas live in shallow, warm, slow-moving freshwater habitats such as marshes, rice paddies, floodplains, canals, and heavily vegetated pools where surface access and plant cover are important.
Butterfly Halfmoon Bettas are bred for a broad 180-degree tail spread combined with a two-tone fin pattern. The “butterfly” look comes from the distinct outer fin band, often white or pale, that frames the tail and fins separately from the inner body and fin color.
This form is best kept as an individual centerpiece fish where its color pattern, wide finnage, and personality can stand out. The white edging on the tail gives the fish a clean outlined look in motion, making the butterfly pattern the main visual trait of this betta.

Healthy, active Betta fish. Very curious and lots of personality. All his fins look healthy and he is swimming really well. Couldn't be happier with him. ☺️

Unopened, in perfect condition. Haven't fed Sera Betta granules yet but excited to try it. It has rave reviews online. Very happy with my purchase.
