Discus Singapore Imports (Symphysodon aequifasciatus) are selectively bred freshwater cichlids descended from wild discus native to slow-moving Amazon Basin waters in South America. Wild discus are associated with warm, calm floodplain lakes, shaded tributaries, submerged branches, leaf litter, and root-filled margins where stable water conditions and low current shape their natural behavior.

Singapore has a long history of ornamental discus breeding, with farms producing a wide range of refined color forms, body shapes, and pattern lines for the aquarium trade.
