Pearl Danio is a peaceful, active schooling fish ideal for planted community aquariums, known for its pearly sheen and constant movement.
🐟 More About This Species 🐟
Pearl Danio (Danio albolineatus) is an active schooling freshwater fish native to parts of Southeast Asia, including Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Sumatra. In the wild, it is associated with clear streams, small rivers, vegetated margins, floodplain habitats, and other well-oxygenated freshwater areas with steady movement and open swimming space.
This species has a slender danio body shape with a pearly, blue-violet sheen and a narrow orange to reddish stripe that becomes more noticeable as the fish matures. Like other danios, it is built for constant movement and does best when kept in a proper group rather than as a single fish. Its schooling behavior helps reduce stress and brings out more natural activity in the aquarium.
Pearl Danios are peaceful, fast-moving community fish that work well with other active, non-aggressive species. They are a strong choice for planted community aquariums, cooler tropical setups, and tanks where the goal is movement near the upper and middle water column without adding aggressive behavior.
