Pink Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlid

Pink Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara hybrid) is a selectively bred Lake Malawi peacock cichlid form developed from Aulonocara lineage rather than a single wild-type species. Wild Aulonocara are native to Lake Malawi in East Africa, where they live around sandy zones, rocky margins, and transition areas that allow them to sift, forage, and display.

The Pink Dragon Blood form was developed through ornamental breeding for intense pink, peach, orange, and red body coloration with a clean peacock cichlid profile. Unlike many wild Aulonocara species that show more location-specific blue, yellow, or metallic patterning, Dragon Blood strains are valued for their solid warm coloration and bold display behavior.

Pink Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlids are active, confident African cichlids best kept with other appropriately sized Lake Malawi peacocks and haps. They work well in spacious African cichlid aquariums with open swimming room, rock structure, and tank mates that can handle a moderately assertive but not overly aggressive setup.
