A Formulation Using a Tried-and-True Active Ingredient

Directions

Dose one (1) teaspoon (approximately 5 mL) per 10 gallons (38 L) of actual system water. Avoid overdosing. Additional aeration during treatment is helpful.

For Best Results

1. Always treat in a separate quarantine or treatment tank.

2. Remove activated carbon from filters. Rinse or replace mechanical filtration media as needed. Keep filtration running to support the nitrogen cycle.

3. Change at least one-third of the water before every dose. Use RO/DI saltwater that matches the tank’s temperature and salinity. If preparing saltwater with tap water, use ClorAm-X® to detoxify ammonia during preparation.

4. Repeat the full dose every 24 hours. When accelerating treatment, doses may be given more frequently according to the course of the disease, but never less than eight hours apart.

5. Continue uninterrupted treatment for three (3) days after all visible signs of disease disappear.

Short-Term Bath Instructions

For a short-term bath, add two (2) teaspoons (approximately 10 mL) per gallon of water and expose the affected fish for approximately 30 minutes.

Do Not Overdose

Calculate actual water volume by multiplying the tank’s internal length, width, and water depth in inches, then dividing by 231 to obtain US gallons. Deduct water displaced by substrate, rocks, decorations, and other objects.

Do Not Allow to Freeze

Do not use the product if crystallized material appears under the bottle seal or noticeable clumps appear when pouring. These may indicate freezing, which can make the product lethal to fish.

Water Conditioner Compatibility

The manufacturer advises against sulfur- or sulfinate-based water conditioners. If ingredients are not listed, check compatibility with the conditioner’s manufacturer. A rotten-egg smell may indicate incompatible ingredients that can reduce treatment effectiveness and negatively affect dissolved oxygen levels.

Do not use with sulfinate- or sulfoxylate-based water conditioners.

Warnings

Do not use Ich-X® Saltwater with other medications.

This product may permanently stain aquarium silicone and sealants, rocks, concrete, plastic objects, clothing, countertops, floors, furniture, and carpeting. Wear disposable gloves to avoid skin contact and staining.

Ich-X® Saltwater may harm some invertebrates, including filter feeders. Observe treated animals carefully. If stress occurs, immediately change at least 50% of the water, treating replacement water with Ultimate® or a combination of Stress-X® and ClorAm-X®.

Caution

Avoid skin and eye contact. Do not ingest. If swallowed, contact a physician or poison control center immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. In case of skin contact, wash with mild soap and warm water.
